One of the best things about being a Rogue in World of Warcraft is having the ability to pick locks. There are many treasure chests in the World of Warcraft and if you’re a Rogue adept a lockpicking, you’ll be able to find good items by yourself. Maintaining and leveling the lock picking skill can be tedious because unlike professions, you have to do quests in order to raise your lock picking skill. This Wow Lockpicking guide will make it easier for you to boost your lockpicking skill by discussing where you need to go and how to finish quests involved in upgrading your lockpicking.
There are different paths that are open to Rogues depending on their level or if they belong to the horde or alliance. Low level Rogues have a much simpler task, they only have to do the quest for lockpicking and practice until they reach the level cap. After that, they’ll be pickpocketing the lockboxes needed for the rest of their WoW career. Birdmen, Demons, Nagas, Ogres, Orcs and Undeads have the chance to drop lockboxes once they are above level 18.
For higher level Rogues, you must proceed to the area where the lockpicking quest can be taken and pick locks until it turns grey. The next step involves finding the right mobs with the suitable level to pick pocket. You may also look for areas with mossy footlockers to pick.
The quest for lockpicking of the Alliance and the Horde are different from one another. We’ll look at them separately in this WoW guide.
Alliance WoW Lockpicking Guide Quest
Talk to the NPC named Lucius in Redridge’s Warf. He will be giving the quest.
The quest will require you to go to Alther’s Mill. Once there, you’ll see several chests. The small dark treasure chests are for practice and the brown wooden chest is the quest chest.
Keep practicing on the dark chests until your lockpicking skill reaches 80. To easily reach 80, stand in a spot where you can target multiple chests at once.
Once you’ve reached the target level, open the wooden chest and take whatever is in it.
Go back to Lucius to receive your certificate to finish the quest.
Horde WoW Lockpicking Guide Quest
Look for Wrentex in the Ratchett found in the Barrens, he can be found near the flight master. He will be giving you the quest “Plundering for Plunderers”.
Take the Thieves Tools and E.C.A.C from the Gizmotronic Apparatus
Equip a cracker in an available slot in your action bar before proceeding.
You now have to proceed in the ship located south of Ratchett.
Enter the room with many boxes and, like in the Alliance lockpicking quest, practice on the dark chests until you reach skill level 80 or higher.
The quest chest is found in the ship’s lowest level.
Once you’ve opened the chest, a level 50 parrot will appear. To nerf the bird to level 18, you will need to use stealth and right click the cracker you’ve equipped before attacking.
Once you’re done return to Wrentex to submit the quest.
